Terms and Conditions
Last updated: June 15, 2026
By using openFDA Explorer you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please leave the site.
1. What this site is
We provide a free interface for querying FDA public data through the openFDA API. openFDA Explorer is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA does not maintain or endorse this website.
2. Not medical advice
Important: Nothing here is medical advice. Drug labels, adverse event reports, recall notices, and other datasets are for general information and research. FDA public data is useful for research and general interest. It is not medical advice. Talk to a qualified healthcare professional about your health.
3. Data accuracy
We display what openFDA returns. We do not verify records for clinical or legal use. The FDA's own disclaimers apply to the underlying data. Do not rely on this site for decisions that could affect health, safety, or compliance.
4. Our content
Site design, original articles, and code are ours unless noted otherwise. FDA public data is subject to the openFDA license. Do not copy our layout or articles for republication without permission.
5. API use
Queries you run are sent to openFDA and count against their rate limits. Heavy automated scraping may get throttled — by them or by us if it affects other visitors.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break any applicable law while using the site
- Try to access admin areas or systems you are not authorized to use
- Send spam, malware, or abusive content through our forms
- Harvest data in ways that violate openFDA's terms
7. Advertising
We may show third-party ads, including through Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the content of those ads or the sites they link to.
8. Liability
To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from your use of this site or from decisions you make based on data shown here. The site is provided "as is."
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the new version.
10. Contact
